An introduction to NCP1b

From 6th – 17th September the first leg of the England-Shanghai Mathematics Exchange Project (National Project NCP1b) saw teachers from each of the English Maths Hubs visit primary and secondary schools within Shanghai. From 3rd – 25th November the second leg will see these teachers from Shanghai come to teach select classes within our schools.

Alice Lacey (of Harris Academy South Norwood) and Chris Whitehead (of Harris Academy Beckenham) are taking part in this exchange on behalf of the London Thames Maths Hub.

This blog initially aims to document their observations, thoughts and reflections from both legs of this project. Following the Shanghai teachers visit to England, it will then focus on what changes have been implemented within their schools as a result.

We hope that this will provide an open opportunity for discussion, so please do feel free to send us your thoughts, comments and questions!
